The lake itself is relatively shallow, anywhere between 7 and 14 meters depending on rainfall and other factors. Next, you will head to the Gullfoss Waterfall one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. Afterwards you will stop at Geysir Geothermal Area to see the exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which sprouts water 100 ft or 30 meters into the air every few minutes. On your way back to Reykjavik you will visit Þingvellir National Park, which is another big natural attraction as this is where the two continental tectonic plates are splitting Iceland into a part of Eurasia and North America. Enjoy a light hike through the park before your guide takes you back to your hotel for the night.
