  • Day 4 : Snowmobiling on top of a Glacier Volcano

Eyjafjallajökull, in Iceland, is a perfect example of a mix of fire and ice. It's a glacier, like a massive ice blanket that slowly moves downhill. But underneath that icy surface is a volcano, ready to rumble. Sometimes, this volcano wakes up and melts the ice, causing explosions of ash and steam. In 2010, it did just that and disrupted flights across Europe. So, Eyjafjallajökull is both a chill glacier and a hot-headed volcano, making it a unique and sometimes unpredictable natural wonder.

After this you will be heading east to the majestic area of Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón for your stay at Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon.

  • Day 5 : Private Ice Cave Tour

Our local partner is an expert mountaineer guide renowned for discovering the most spectacular ice caves that resemble scenes from a movie. This promises to be another extraordinary bucket-list experience. The guide will meet you at the parking lot near the glacier lagoon and transport you in his super jeep to the starting point of your hike to the ice caves.

This day will be all about the glacier and the famous glacier lagoon.

  • Day 6 : South East to South Iceland

This day you will be heading back down to the south of Iceland. As you pass through the south east your guide will make a lot of stops at places like Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon for some breathtaking hikes and walks.

Explore the Waterfalls of the South as you end your day at Umi Hotel in the south.

  • Day 8: Explore Reykjavík on your own.

When exploring Reykjavík for half a day, you'll find there's plenty to see and experience in this charming and vibrant city. Here's a suggested itinerary to make the most of your time:

Hallgrímskirkja: Start your day by visiting the iconic Hallgrímskirkja, one of Reykjavík's most recognizable landmarks. This stunning modernist church offers a panoramic view of the city from its tower. Take an elevator to the top for breathtaking vistas of colorful rooftops, the harbor, and the surrounding mountains.

Laugavegur Street: After descending from Hallgrímskirkja, head to Laugavegur, Reykjavík's main shopping street. Stroll along this lively avenue lined with boutiques, souvenir shops, cafes, and restaurants. It's a great place to pick up some Icelandic gifts or enjoy a coffee and pastry.

Harpa Concert Hall: Walk towards the harbor area and admire the Harpa Concert Hall, an architectural masterpiece made of glass and steel. Explore the interior with its striking design, and if you have time, check their schedule for concerts or events.

Sun Voyager Sculpture: Continue along the harbor promenade and find the Sun Voyager sculpture. This iconic artwork resembles a Viking ship and provides a fantastic photo opportunity with the ocean and mountains in the background.

Reykjavík Old Harbor: Spend some time at the Old Harbor, where you can take a short whale-watching tour if time permits. Alternatively, explore the area's charming cafes and restaurants for a quick lunch.

Tjörnin (The Pond): Walk back towards the city center and visit Tjörnin, a small but picturesque lake. It's a popular spot to feed ducks and swans and take a leisurely stroll around the water's edge.

National Museum of Iceland: Immerse yourself in Iceland's rich history and culture at the National Museum. If you're interested in the country's heritage, this museum offers a fascinating collection of artifacts and exhibitions.

Harpa Shopping and Dining: Return to the Harpa Concert Hall area, where you'll find additional shops and restaurants inside the building. Relax with a cup of Icelandic hot chocolate or try some local delicacies at one of the eateries.

Perlan (The Pearl): Depending on time and energy, consider visiting Perlan, a unique glass-domed structure situated on Öskjuhlíð hill. It offers a 360-degree view of Reykjavík and houses an exhibition, a restaurant, and a café.
